These U.S. tourist attractions have the longest lines, according to unhappy tourists
Racing across the world (or just the state) to see a tourist attraction is thrilling...but sometimes that excitement fades when you’re left waiting in line. It can be hard to keep your momentum when you keep checking the time, texting friends and scrolling your feed, only to then move forward 10 inches. We usually like to stay upbeat here at Time Out, but in this story, we need to let you know about some of the worst offenders. We’re using data created by Hawaiianislands.com, and they scanned the 100 most popular tourist attractions in each country according to TripAdvisor, and then did the math on how many reviews mentioned the phrase “long queue.” We now have to halt because many Americans might not even know this word, much less how to spell it, but basically a “queue” is British for “line.” In other words, we can now see which of the top tourist attractions in the US have the worst lines, according to people who can spell the word queue.

Flash sale alert: Book a roomette on Amtrak and bring a guest for free
Amtrak’s got a new sale brewing—they want you to take a companion with you for free when you book a roomette. That’s a great deal since the roomette includes free meals along with the ride. A roomette is smaller than Amtrak’s bedroom, but it still works for overnight trips and has a door that closes between you and the rest of the train. Basically, a roomette is two seats that face each other, and a nook has been created to hold those seats. At night, Amtrak staff help you fold down the seats to form one bunk, and another bunk lowers from above the window. It’s private with a huge picture window for enjoying the view. On most trains, the roomettes are located in an area of the train that shares a bathroom with only a few other private rooms.
