Section 9 earns 13 nominations to all-state boys basketball all-star teams

Thirteen players from Section 9 were chosen to the New York State Sportswriters Association large-school boys basketball teams for 2023-24.

Cayden Dones of New Paltz (fourth team, Class A), Zach Hart of Our Lady of Lourdes (fifth team, Class AA) and Ke'Montae Thawe of Kingston (sixth team, Class AAA) were the highest selections for the region encompassing Orange, Ulster, Sullivan and part of Dutchess counties.

The small-school picks were released last week. In all, 24 players from Section 9 were honored by the association.
