LIBERTY - A New York State trooper was charged with robbery in the village of Liberty on Tuesday.

The trooper, Christopher DiBartolo, 47, has been suspended without pay, pending the outcome of the case.

According to state police, DiBartolo was arrested following an investigation into an incident that took place outside a residence in the village of Liberty in 2023.

The male complainant, who was known to DiBartolo, came forward after he was involved in an incident with DiBartolo while he was on duty. The complainant reported that DiBartolo took personal property from him, causing damage.
