SAUGERTIES - A Saugerties man is facing rape and other charges in a case involving missing children.

Saugerties police said the children, who they identified only as "juveniles under the age of 17," were reported missing on Sunday, and officers found them later the same day.

After they were found, police charged Daniel A. Scism Jr., age not available, with third-degree rape and third-degree criminal sexual act, both felonies; and third-degree sexual abuse and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors.

Scism was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Part of Ulster County Court and sent to the Ulster County jail pending further court action. The amount of his bail was listed as pending.

The name of Scism's attorney was not immediately available.
