Two stores in Sweet Valley area burglarized

SHICKSHINNY — Pennsylvania State Police at Shickshinny say they are investigating burglaries at two stores in the Sweet Valley area.

A burglar forced open a door at the General Store, state Route 239, Union Township, a about 2:36 a.m. Tuesday and removed cash from two registers. The suspect was last seen walking north on Route 239.

A burglary was also reported at Peyton’s Place Restaurant, Main Road, Ross Township, where the front door was forced open and cash was stolen from a register between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call Pennsylvania State Police at Shickshinny at 570-542-4117.
