    Hundreds participate in second Wyoming Valley Run

    The Wyoming Valley Run presented by Allied Services hosted the second edition of its 10-mile race from Pittston to Wilkes-Barre on Sunday morning. Despite a rainy start to the day, hundreds of runners, walkers and handcyclists participated.

    This year’s race benefits five charities: Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, The Cancer Wellness Center of NEPA, The Greater Wyoming Valley Area YMCA, Northeast Sight Services and Wyoming Valley Children’s Association.

    The top five leaders overall in each event and their times are as follows.

    10 Mile Run

    First: Joshua Izewski, 00:48:18.

    Second: Alex Monroe, 00:53:06.

    Third: Brendan Turowski, 00:55:57.

    Fourth: Paige Wood, 00:56:15.

    Fifth: Abigail Corrigan, 00:58:02.

    10 Mile Walk

    First: Sherwood Grabiec, 01:49:41.

    Second: Russell Keeler, 01:56:19.

    Third: Dave Williams, 02:10:25.

    Fourth: Tracy Hunt, 02:12:48.

    Fifth: Molly Banks, 02:15:49.

    10 Mile Hand Cycle

    First: Kevin Bittenbender, 00:34:39.

    Second: Chuck Canfield, 00:40:45.

    Third: Michael McDonald, 00:41:02.

    Fourth: Wilson Martell, 00:54:10.

    Fifth: Rob Leiser, 00:54:24.

    In the Virtual 10 Mile Run/Walk, Patrick (Skip) Stevenson came in first at 01:19:00, and Kristie Stevenson finished second at 02:21:23.
