    Wilkes-Barre Area reamins unbeaten in WVC girls soccer

    Addison Corchado scored twice, and a steady barrage of offense led Wilkes-Barre Area to a 5-0 win over Hazleton Area to remain unbeaten in Wyoming Valley Conference girls soccer play.

    Jordan Prushinski, Kathryn Tarnalicki and Kathryn Buczynski scored a goal each for the Wolfpack, who put 30 shots on net total against the Cougars.

    Hazleton Area goalie Chloe Zellin made 25 saves.

    BOYS SOCCER

    Lake-Lehman 2, Wyoming Area 0

    The Black Knights’ defense held Wyoming Area completely in check, posting a shutout and picking up the win.

    Greyson Dieffenbacher had a goal and an assist to lead Lake-Lehman. Andrew Morris had a goal, and Hunter Palka added an assist.

    Dallas 7, Wyoming Valley West 1

    The Mountaineers took a 5-0 lead at the half and never looked back in a win over Wyoming Valley West.

    Daniel Robson scored three times for Dallas. David Da Silva scored twice, while Devon Nelson and Chris Miller scored a goal apiece. Cole Kutch made 11 saves for Dallas.

    Chase Evanofski scored the lone goal for Valley West. Grayson Ader made eight saves.

    FIELD HOCKEY

    Dallas 1, Holy Redeemer 0

    Maggie Smith scored the game-winner in overtime to lead Dallas to a hard-fought win over Holy Redeemer.

    Smith’s goal came with just 58 seconds left in the first OT period, and was unassisted.

    Maddie Miller made 18 saves for Holy Redeemer.

    GIRLS TENNIS

    Crestwood 3, Wyoming Area 2

    In a match started on Aug. 24 and finished on Thursday, Crestwood scratched out a win at No. 2 doubles to seal the match win.

    Kendall Petrosky and Lucy Malia earned the doubles win for the Comets. Hannah Ziegler and Camerone Carlos won singles points for Crestwood.

    Sarah Willison won in singles for Wyoming Area, and the team of Lily Kasa and Erica Gilligan earned a doubles point for the Warriors.

    GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

    Crestwood 3, Berwick 2

    The Comets managed to fight back from two sets down, rallying for a victory over Berwick.

    Berwick won the first two sets 25-16 and 25-22, but Crestwood hung in with a 25-23 victory in the third and a 25-20 win in the fourth set.

    A 15-13 win in the fifth and final set delivered the match for Crestwood.

    Holy Redeemer 3, MMI Prep 0

    The Royals rolled from start to finish, sweeping away MMI Prep.

    Set scores were 25-4, 25-5 and 25-12 all in favor of Holy Redeemer.

    Tunkhannock 3, Dallas 0

    Piper Lukasavage had 10 kills and two aces in a Tunkhannock sweep of Dallas. Set scores were 26-24, 25-23 and 25-13 all in favor of the Tigers.

    Miya Gunderson had five kills and four digs. Olivia Yuhas had 11 assists for Tunkhannock.
