    NASCAR legend Jimmie Johnson to hold meet and greet in Hendersonville

    Want a chance to meet a NASCAR legend in person without driving to Charlotte? Driver Jimmie Johnson will be in Hendersonville Friday, May 24, ahead of a Charlotte Motor Speedway race on May 26.

    Johnson, along with Legacy Motor Club team driver Erik Jones, will be at the Henderson County Courthouse at 1 Historic Courthouse Square in Hendersonville for a meet and greet from noon to 1 p.m. Johnson is co-owner of Legacy Motor Club.

    Johnson, who was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame this year, will be driving the AdventHealth Toyota Camry XSE at the May 26 Coca-Cola 500 Cup series race on dedicated to those who died in the line of duty in the military. The race is the day before Memorial Day.

    The vehicle Johnson will be driving will be on display at the courthouse from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 24.

    Johnson has won the NASCAR Cup Series seven times, driving the Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet. He shares a record with Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty for the most premier series championships. He has had 83 career wins, tied with Cale Yarbrough for the sixth most in the sports history. Johnson is the only driver to have earned five consecutive titles, which he won from 2006 to 2010.
