Two Dead, One Wounded After Shooting in Loma Portal Neighborhood

Three people were wounded Wednesday, two of them fatally, in a shooting in the Loma Portal neighborhood of Point Loma, authorities said.

The gunfire at Poinsettia Drive and Zola Street erupted shortly before 4 p.m., according to San Diego police.

A possible suspect was taken into custody in the area a short time later, police said.

The circumstances that led to the shooting were not immediately clear.
