The North County Fire Protection District (NCFPD) broke ground this week on its Fire Station No. 3 renovation and expansion project in Fallbrook.

NCFPD has partnered with Erickson-Hall Construction to improve the station’s facilities and enhance its firefighting capabilities including the addition of a dozer barn to support Cal Fire‘s operations in the region.

A dozer barn is a metal structure that houses a fire dozer, which is a bulldozer used to fight fires in rough terrain. The dozer barn at Fire Station No. 3 will house a bulldozer, truck and a trailer, officials said.

“This project marks a new chapter for us as we strive to meet the growing needs of our community,” NCFPD Fire Chief Keith McReynolds said.

Anticipated completion date for construction is July 2025, according to Erickson-Hall.
