Five former San Diego State players have been waived by NBA teams, but at least two appear bound for NBA G-League teams.

Matt Bradley and Jordan Schakel were signed by the Houston Rockets and the Boston Celtics, but waived Saturday according to NBA.com.

The Rockets’ G-League squad is the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and Boston’s is the Maine Celtics. The teams, which begin play in November, have yet to post rosters.

USA Today’s Rocket Wire reported the Bradley would be part of the Vipers, while Hoops Rumors had Schakel set for a return to the Celtics’ G-League squad.

The San Antonio Spurs parted ways with two former Aztecs, Malachi Flynn, who they signed two months ago, and Nathan Mensah. The Minnesota Timberwolves waived Jaedon LeDee on Oct. 2.

Bradley, a SDSU transfer from Cal, was part of the 2023 team that made it to the championship game at the NCAA Tournament. Schakel, an Aztec for four years, through the 2020-21 season, appeared in two tournaments.

LeDee broke out last season as SDSU made the Sweet 16 at the tournament, while Mensah was a defensive standout through 2022-23.

Flynn led the high-flying 2019-20 team that missed out on March Madness due to the beginning of COVID-19 lockdowns. The guard, drafted by Toronto in 2020, has had NBA stints with the Raptors, Knicks and Pistons.
