All Copies of Southwestern College’s Award-Winning Newspaper Stolen from Campus
Over the weekend, all issues of The Southwestern Sun — an award-winning student publication for Southwestern College in Chula Vista — were stolen from racks on campus. According to Max Branscomb, a journalism professor at Southwestern and advisor for the publication, the loss is estimated to be 600 newspapers and 100 magazines. It’s a financial setback for the student newsroom of at least $1,500.

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors Tuesday voted 4-0 in favor of a 70 unit sleeping cabin site, in an effort to help homeless residents within the city of Lemon Grove. The new site will replace a cabin project on Jamacha Road in Spring Valley, which supervisors in late June rejected after hearing from residents at the meeting about safety issues.

Woman, 38, Fatally Shot During Talmadge-Area Residential Robbery
Authorities sought Tuesday to identify and track down a thief who fatally shot a woman this week during a robbery at a Talmadge-area apartment complex.
