    Things to do: Take the Cool Coyotes hike at Dillon State Park

    Make your way to Dillon State Park for the park's ongoing Park After Dark series. According to the Facebook event page, "Full Moon Hikes occur monthly and are approximately one mile long on varying terrain. Please bring water/snacks, and sturdy footwear, and dress appropriately for the weather. Artificial lights may be brought but used at the naturalist's discretion." The next hike is scheduled to run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday and will commence at park cabin 21. The theme for this month will be Cool Coyotes. For more information call 740-453-4377.     Eclipse speaker

    Prepare for the April 8 total solar eclipse and bone up on your astronomy knowledge at the same time. Join keynote speaker Irene Baron as she talks about the event. Baron is an Eclipse Ambassador with the NASA Partner Eclipse Ambassador program, a member of the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), the Space Science Institute (SSI), and the Astronomical Society of the Pacific. The talk is scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 7, in Elson Hall at Ohio University Zanesville. Grab your pair of solar viewing lenses on behalf of OUZ while you're there. Elson Hall is located at 1425 Newark Road, Zanesville.

    Brew festival

    Enjoy an evening at COSI for the 21-plus crowd at the third annual Columbus Brew Festival. Sample more than 150 beers from 50-plus local breweries. The festival is scheduled to run from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, March 9. Admission includes beer samplings and access to the museum exhibits. Food will be available for purchase separately.     Cali Morris

    The Downtown Exchange is the perfect venue to catch some live music and great food. Watch Cali Morris perform from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, March 9. Morris, a Pataskala native, was a golden ticket winner on the 20th season of American Idol. Grab some grub and enjoy her unique pop sound as she brings her act to Zanesville. The Downtown Exchange is located at 527 Main St., Zanesville.

    Evan Abood

    A little winter jam session is always enjoyable. Head down to The Barn on Friday to hear the vocal stylings of Evan Abood. The acoustic guitarist and singer will begin his show at 7 p.m., covering classic hits to soothe the Gen X soul and more. You can follow him for upcoming shows.
