    Wednesday-Thursday Roundup: Tri-Valley, Philo girls stay perfect in MVL play

    DRESDEN — Maddie Garber knocked in another game winner in the second half, helping Tri-Valley top John Glenn in a Muskingum Valley League girls soccer match on Thursday.

    The Scotties (3-0-1, 3-0) held a 10-3 edge in shots on goal.

    Philo 6, Maysville 0: Emily Stockdale and Victoria Ligon had two goals and an assist apiece as the Electrics (3-1, 3-0) stayed perfect in league play.

    Hannah Foster and Angie Myers also scored for Philo, while the defense had a great performance and Paige Stockdale made five saves to secure the shutout.

    Maysville took five shots and keeper Josalynn Milatovich had 10 saves.

    West Muskingum 8, Morgan 2: Debra Allen collected a hat trick to lead the Tornadoes past the Raiders.

    Grace Caton tallied two goals with two assists, Lyla Johnson added two goals and Molly Spiker also scored, Maria Hill, Hannah Roberts, Reese Kullman and Gabbie Grandstaff combined for 31 interceptions and four steals, and keeper Kaydance Bresett made nine saves for West M.

    Sheridan 6, New Lexington 1: Mikenna Schiele scored a hat trick and Brenna Moorehead added two goals and two assists, as the Generals (4-1) picked up a league win.

    McKinney also scored and Morgan Tingler and Maddy Rebant added assists for Sheridan.

    River View 4, Coshocton 0 : Kylie Miller had a pair of goals, Alyssa Cox scored and assisted two goals and Bailey Custer also had a goal in the win.

    Boys Soccer

    Maysville 6, Fairfield Union 0: Cam Parker collected two goals and two assists, as the Panthers (4-1-1) dropped the Falcons.

    Parker scored on a long assist from goalkeeper Shepp Cosgrave to take a 1-0 halftime lead. The Panthers exploded for five goals in the second half, as Wyatt Mynes tallied two goals with additional goals scored by Jack Factor and Keaton Meredith.

    Cosgrave and Dawson Harper combined for the shutout while Cyrus Melick led the defense.

    River View 9, Coshocton 0 : Cael Summers and Cameron Murphy led an offensive explosion with two goals apiece to pace the host Black Bears in an MVL crossover match in Warsaw.

    Parker Andrews, Chase Wright, Hayden Walters, Bodey Richard and Derek Beitzel also scored for River View; Andrews, Wright, Micah Hardesty, Laired Williamson and Deakon Ames had assists.

    Layton Massie needed only one save to record the shutout.

    Sheridan 6, New Lexington 0: Xavior Weisbarth-Rodriguez set the school record with four goals in the Generals' victory.

    Kasen Miller and Aydan Kays also scored for Sheridan. It was Kays' first varsity goal.

    Weir (West Virginia) 3, Cambridge 1: Bryce Hearing scored on an assist from David Garcia, and Quentin Stora had five saves in goal for the Bobcats.

    Boys Golf

    John Glenn 148, Tri-Valley 158, West Muskingum 163: Noah Dever tied Dylan Van Fossen's school record with a 4-under 31 on the par-35 front nine to lead the Muskies (15-0) to a tri-match win at Wildfire.

    C.J. Dolan added a 37, Cooper Briggs 39 and Hayden Gensor and Mason Williams 41s for John Glenn; Nash Baughman led the Scotties with a 34, Cale Preston 40, Gavin Harrold 41 and Connor Preston 44.

    Reid Lemity fired 38, Clayton Clewell 39, Nick Anton 42 and Hayden Lambert 44 for the West Muskingum.

    Maysville 149, Philo 183, Morgan 204: Medalist Hoyt Dodson fired an even-par 35 on the front nine at EagleSticks as the Panthers picked up a MVL win.

    Cade Pickrell chipped in a 36, Ethan Wright a 37 and Slade Shreve a 41 for Maysville, while AJ Layton carded a 41, Tanner Brookover 44 and Josh Gooden and Luke Neff 49s for the Electrics.

    Buckeye Trail 146, Conotton Valley 175: Carson Raber broke the Trail school record, shooting 5-under 31 in a win at Hickory Flats.

    Braden St. Clair and Harrison Miller carded 38s and Sam Wayble shot 39 for the Warriors.

    New Lexington 183, Rosecrans 191, Fisher Catholic 200: Rocco Stanton was medalist with a 40, and Evan Bauer led the Bishops with a 42 on the back nine at Jaycees.

    Volleyball

    River View 3, Tri-Valley 0: Haley Balo connected on 17 kills with four digs and two aces and Ava Donnell and Layla Olinger combined for 15 kills in the Black Bears' win over the Scotties.

    Kelsie Smith handed out 35 assists, Donnell had eight kills and two aces, Olinger hit seven kills with five digs and Lindyn Fry collected five digs and three aces for River View (4-3, 3-1).

    Haley Moore had 14 assists and Annika Collet tallied six kills, three block assists and two blocks for Tri-Valley.

    Tri-Valley reserves won 25-15, 25-16. Hailey Myers had five points and Remi Lewis two points for River View.

    Meadowbrook 3, Coshocton 1: Journey Nicola made 21 digs and Katie Stoney hit 17 kills, as the Colts won 21-25, 25-15, 25-16, 25-14 in a MVL Small School clash.

    Nora Smithberger added 10 kills, Sommer Ginn had 17 digs, Natalee Norman chipped in 16 digs and six kills, Lyla Thompson had six kills and Addy Sichina made eight digs for Meadowbrook.

    Kenedi Jackson had nine kills with 13 digs, Saige Abbott eight kills with seven digs and Lacey Guthrie six kills and 18 digs for Coshocton (2-2, 2-2); Lilah Laaper added 28 assists and nine digs.

    Sheridan 3, Philo 0: Payton Powell and Ava Heller combined for 17 kills and 33 digs, as the Generals won 25-18, 25-18, 25-12 against the Electrics in Big School play.

    Heller had 17 digs and eight kills, Powell had 16 digs and nine kills and two aces, Dylan Fox set 21 assists with 12 digs and three kills, Halle Warner hit six kills and Grace Stoltz had 14 digs.

    Liv Fink hit seven kills, Aleigha Busse had 16 digs, five kills and two aces, Halli Harris had 11 assists with two aces, Addy Khune totaled 13 digs and four kills and Ava White made 12 digs for the Electrics.

    Samantha Emmert had six kills and three digs and was 100% serving, Drew Fox totaled six assists, four kills and three digs and Stoltz made 16 digs as Sheridan reserves won 25-15, 25-14.

    New Lexington 3, Maysville 0: Jorja Burkhart set up 20 assists and served five aces and Chloe Dick added 14 kills as New Lex picked up a 25-7, 25-5, 25-9 road win over Maysville

    Ava Snedecker had six kills and two blocks, Grace Newlon served six aces with seven digs and Caroline Dupler made six digs for New Lex; while Sailor Atkins had seven digs, Bekah Scott six digs and Avery Daniels three digs for Maysville.

    New Lex reserves won 25-13, 25-4, as Layla Baker had nine kills, three digs and three aces, Makayla McCoy 14 assists and Abbi Denny three aces. Olivia Shipley had three digs and Sophie Dennis two kills for Maysville.

    West Muskingum 3, Crooksville 2: The Tornadoes rallied past the Ceramics 25-14, 16-25, 19-25, 25-12, 15-11 for MVL Small School win.

    Ayla Tilton hit 10 kills, Olivia Drabik totaled 19 assists and Lucy Thorne had six kills and three aces for West M, while Maelee Collins made 26 digs with eight points and two aces, Brynn Lundell added 18 digs, five kills and six points, Kamdyn Hall had 10 points and 10 digs and Mylee Davis hit 11 kills and four blocks for Crooksville.

    Crooksville reserves won 25-13, 25-11, as Alainnah Lantz had 12 points and five aces, Gracie Ferguson 14 points, three aces and three kills and Karleigh Wagoner hit five kills.

    Morgan 3, John Glenn 1: The Raiders picked up a 25-22, 25-21, 25-27, 28-26 win over the host Muskies (3-4, 1-3 MVL-Big) in an MVL-Big School match in New Concord, despite Ava Harmon's 13 kills and Faith Saxton's 12 kills.

    Sophie Emerson served up five aces with nine digs and Karleigh Websters added four kills and nine digs for John Glenn.

    Paige Lanning passed out 54 assists, Haven Cook had 14 kills and three aces, Allia Rush hit 17 kills with two blocks, Evelyn Newton chipped in 14 kills, Kaidence Searl added 11 kills and Blair Clawson made 20 digs with two aces for the Raiders.

    Morgan's reserves won, 15-25, 26-24, 25-20. Leah Johnson had six kills and four digs and Cecilee Perkins three kills, 15 assists and nine digs for John Glenn.

    Buckeye Trail 3, Strasburg 2: The Warriors fell behind 2-0 before rallying for a 16-25, 21-25, 25-15, 26-24, 15-11 in Inter-Valley Conference action.

    Vayda Neuhart hit 14 kills with four blocks and 14-of-15 serving, Kayla Hinkle went 25 of 27 serving with 15 points, 10 kills and six aces, Sydney Patterson was 16 of 17 with eight points and seven assists, Anna McVicker set 30 assists with 13 points, eight kills and 19-of-19 serving, Jersey Eddy had 10 points and seven kills and Karsyn Oldson went 13-of-14 with eight points and eight assists for the Warriors.

    Tusky Valley 3, Ridgewood 0: The Trojans downed the Generals 25-21, 25-18, 25-9 in IVC play.

    Girls Tennis

    Zanesville 3, Cambridge 2: Winners for ZHS, No. 3 singles Bella Jarrett defeated Madi Peebles, 6-0, 6-0, No. 1 doubles of Ava Puterbaugh and Sara Jarrett over Selina Garcia and Reese Antill 6- 4, 6-4 and No. 2 doubles Blair Lowe and Jazzy Spencer won 6-4, 6-0 over Kilee Jeffrey and Mu Lamphear.

    Cambridge's wins, No. 1 singles Miranda Cole downed Chloe Buchanan 4-6, 6-2, 7-6, and No. 2 singles Emma Krise won 6-4, 6-4 over Jersey Nutter.

    Boys Golf

    Sheridan 152, Crooksville 186: Owen Cains and Canyon Daly shared medalist honors with even-par 36 in an MVL dual match at Coyote Run.

    Wyatt Satterfield and Noah Wamer added 40 for the Generals.

    Bo White shot 42 and Gabe Sandefur 45 for Crooksville.

    Meadowbrook 163, New Lexington 184, Coshocton 206: Ben Coss took medalist honors for the Colts, shooting a 38 in the tri-match at Perry Country Club.

    Steven Grafton and Gunner Davis added 40s and Kam Winnett shot 46 for Meadowbrook; Rocco Stanton had 44, Austin Bray 46 and Karson Hook and Peyton Everett 47s for the Panthers; and Bransyn Dawson carded a 44, Tristan Hartmeyer a 52, Zach Fink a 53 and Jerison Spain a 57 for Coshocton.
