Dionte’ Marcell Douglas, 44, of Florence, died at the scene of the crash, Coroner Keith von Lutcken said Friday morning. The crash, which was reported to the highway patrol at about 9:35 p.m., happened on Highway 76 about 2.5 miles east of Timmonsville.

SCHP Master Trooper Brandon Bolt said the bicyclist and a 2012 GMC SUV collided. The GMC was traveling west and the bicyclist was going east.
