The Community Development Block Grant Program is now accepting project proposals for the 2025-26 pipeline, the City of Olympia reports.

Paid for with federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the CDBG program offers zero percent interest, and deferred-payment loans for affordable housing, according to the office of the CDBG Program Manager.

Olympian landlords Danielle and Reid are among the recent recipients of the program, the CDBG office reports. The program helped the two demolish and rebuild an unsafe staircase for their upstairs tenant, city officials report further.

The program also covers home improvements related to plumbing, electrical, and roofing, windows, siding, and energy-efficiency updates, according to the CDBG manager's office.

Olympians interested in applying for a loan can go to the CDBG webpage, the city reports. Follow-up messages should be sent out within two weeks, the CDBG manager's office reports further.
