New Trail & Boardwalk Coming to Grass Lake Park

The City of Olympia reports that a 1.1 mile paved trail is slated for construction in Grass Lake Nature Park next month.

The 365-foot boardwalk will be built over the park's wetland and a new paved parking area will complement the Kaiser Road trailhead location, City officials say.

The project is intended to bolster trail access to Olympia’s second-largest park, the City reports further, and will be funded in part by a grant from the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office.

Construction is slated for early August and is expected to continue through June of 2025, City officials say.

The southern portion of the existing dirt trail will be closed during construction, according to the City of Olympia.
