Columbia Street Section: Revised Reopening in Mid-November

A certain section of Columbia Street between Sid Snyder Avenue SW and 15th Avenue SW will remain closed for a bit longer than anticipated, City of Olympia officials reported on Tuesday.

According to City officials, the closure will continue with a revised reopening date of mid-November. They say the closure is needed to accommodate construction and related street improvements having to do with the reconstruction of the “Newhouse” building on the state Capitol Campus.

There will be signage for detour routes, City officials report further. Commuters are encouraged to avoid this area if possible, they added in a news release on Tuesday.
