Nursing Assistant Suspended for Child Rape: License Revoked

The Washington State Department of Health announced on Monday it suspended the license of Kitsap County certified nursing assistant Marquise King.

From Dec. 6, 2022 to May 1, 2023, King had sexual relations with a minor patient in his care on multiple occasions and fathered a child with them, the DOH reports. King's roommate reportedly provided Snapchat screenshots confirming his relationship with the patient and their child, according to the ensuing DOH investigation.

King was convicted of third-degree child rape, a felony, in Kitsap County Superior Court, according to the DOH, and sentenced to 14 months in prison. He is now required to register as a Level 1 sex offender, the DOH reports.

King cannot practice in Washington until the charges are resolved, the DOH reports further, and has 20 days to respond to the charges and request a hearing.
