Road Work to Close Water St. & 11th Ave. for Weeks

Olympians can expect to see traffic rerouted near the Washington Capitol Campus in light of road work, the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services announced on Tuesday.

DES reports it is closing Water Street SW and a portion of 11th Avenue SW between Cherry Lane SW and Columbia Street SW on the West Campus from Sep. 16 to early November, according to the department.

Traffic bound for the Temple of Justice, the Governor's Mansion, the Flag Circle, or the Legislative Modular Building can continue to use the North Diagonal, South Diagonal, and Sid Snyder Avenue, according to DES.

Traffic leaving these areas must travel south along Cherry Lane to Sid Snyder Avenue for the duration of the closure, DES officials say.

During the street closure, parking on the west side of the General Administration Building is back-in only, the DES reports further.
