    Crater, filmed in Baton Rouge set to be released May 12th on Disney +

    The Disney + original film, "Crater" is a coming of age, science fiction adventure movie set for release on Friday, May 12th. The film stars Isaiah Russell-Bailey, Mckenna Grace, Billy Barratt, Orson Hong, Thomas Boyce and Scott Muscudi (otherwise known as Kid Cudi) The film was directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez and produced by Dan Levine, Dan Cohen and Shawn Levy.

    Crater began production on June 21st, 2021, at Celtic Studios in Baton Rouge, Additional filming took place in Los Angeles. Crater wrapped up filming in September 2021. The film had an estimated budget of $53.4 million dollars.

    The film follows Caleb Channing (Russell-Bailey), who was raised on a lunar mining colony. He’s about to be permanently relocated to an idyllic faraway planet following the death of his father. Before he departs for a new section of the last frontier, and to fulfill his dad’s last wish, Caleb and his three best friends, Dylan, Borney, Marcus and a new arrival from Earth, Addison hijack a rover for one final adventure on a journey to explore a mysterious crater.

    According to Wikipedia, in November 2017, 20th Century Fox had purchased the script but due to the acquisition of Fox, the product was temporarily halted. Once resumed, the film was shifted to Disney's streaming service Disney + for an exclusive streaming premiere
