    2023-05-28

There is nothing like a good hamburger and while a homemade burger on the grill is the one of the best, sometimes you just don't feel like cooking. For those days or nights, these are some of the best places to get a good hamburger in the New Orleans area, either for dine in or take out.

According to NOLA.com, The Swamp Room dates back to at least 1973. It was a dimly lit finish line for a long night on the town or an after-hours den for people working late shifts. By day, its parking lot filled up with contractor vans and pickups as the lunch crowd settled in for plus-sized “swamp burgers,” done in the classic New Orleans bar burger style with a thick, coarsely ground patty and heaps of shredded cheese.

The bar and kitchen are open late, serving until 3 am during the week and 5 am on weekends.

The Company Burger has been locally owned and operated since 2011. Reader's Digest says. "When in New Orleans, beignets are obviously a must-eat, but don’t forget to make time for a visit to The Company Burger. The classic order? Two Black Angus beef patties cooked to medium with a nice crust and served with bread-and-butter pickles, cooked red onions, and American cheese. Keep it simple or add bacon or a fried egg on top—the choice is up to you! Dress your burger to your liking at the condiment bar and enjoy it before a stroll through the Big Easy.

Open from 11 am to 10 pm daily, closed on Tuesdays.
