    Are you looking for something simple and different to cook for dinner? This recipe for Marry Me Chicken recently went viral on social media and with less than one hour to prep and cook, you will be enjoying this delicious chicken dish in no time.

    But why is it called Marry Me Chicken? According to Delish, this dish earned its title from a taste test by the publication's editors. After one bite of those tender chicken breast cooked and smothered in the cheesy, garlic cream sauce, they said "I'd marry you for that chicken."

    INGREDIENTS:

    • 4 3-ounce chicken breasts (about 1/2 inch thick)
    • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
    • 3 tablespoons of butter, unsalted and divided
    • 1 teaspoons of salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
    • 1 large shallot, finely chopped
    • 1/2 teaspoon of crushed red pepper
    • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
    • 1 teaspoon of fresh thyme
    • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon of tomato paste
    • 1/2 cup of dry white wine
    • 1/2 cup of chicken broth
    • 1/2 cup of sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
    • 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream
    • 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese
    • 1 teaspoon of balsamic vinegar
    • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

    DIRECTIONS:

    1. Dredge the chicken in seasoned flour and shake off any excess flour. Transfer the chicken to a plate.
    2. In a large heavy or black iron skillet, on medium heat, heat the oil and melt the butter.
    3. Brown the chicken on both sides until it’s golden brown, transfer on to a plate and cover, and set aside.
    4. Sauté the garlic for about a minute or until fragrant. Add the chicken stock. Then scraping any bits stuck on the bottom of the pan.
    5. Add the heavy whipping cream and parmesan cheese to the skillet and stir. Allow the sauce to simmer for a couple of minutes, then season with the red pepper flakes and oregano.
    6. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
    7. Add the sundried tomatoes, then place the chicken back in the sauce.
    8. Let the sauce simmer and thicken for a few more minutes.
    9. Garnish with some freshly chopped fresh basil and serve warm over rice or pasta and enjoy!
