Christmas in Lafreniere Run/Walk: Holiday Fun!

The 4th annual Christmas in Lafreniere Park Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, December 9th. Pre-race festivities will begin at 2:30 pm, to be followed by the race at 4 pm. The two-mile course encompasses Lafreniere Park's beautiful holiday decor for people of all ages to enjoy. The park's decor features millions of twinkling displays that are constructed with over 10 million LED lights, elaborate decorations and festive lighted displays that include traditional Christmas lighted figures, the 60 foot Sea Serpent in the lagoon and many New Orleans favorites. The Run/Walk will conclude with a special appearance by Santa Claus.

Post-race activities will include free pictures with Santa, holiday kids’ zone, hot chocolate, and face painting to begin at 2:30 pm. There will be complimentary food and beverages available from Blue Runner, Michelob Ultra, Jimmy John’s, Elmer's Cheeweez and Gatorade. Following the race, all runners and walkers will be able to enjoy the park’s holiday walking light tour and purchase food and drinks from local food trucks in the park.

Entry into the “Christmas in Lafreniere Park Run/Walk” is $30 until Saturday, December 2nd and $35 from Sunday, December 3rd, through race day. Registration will also be available in person on the day of the race. Children ages 3-10, military and service members will receive a $5 discount. Registration includes a festive holiday-themed race shirt, a race bib and free early admission to Lafreniere Park’s walking holiday tour lights display.
