    38th Annual Creole Tomato Festival: Food, Music and Fun

    Get ready New Orleans, the 38th annual Creole Tomato Festival is almost here. This two-day free event starts Saturday, June 8th, through Sunday, June 9th, at the French Market in New Orleans. Come on out for some good food, live music, and activities for the whole family.

    First established in 1986, the Creole Tomato Festival held in the heart of New Orleans in the French Quarter, recognizes the beginning of Creole tomato season. A creole tomato is a ripe red tomato that is grown only in Louisiana, most often in parishes that border along the Mississippi River.

    The festival features several delicious Creole inspired dishes at the French Market District eateries with booths from Cafe Dauphine, Lillie's Cajun Kitchen, Numada, Riley's Food and more. Just some of the items available include fried green tomatoes with shrimp remoulade, Creole tomato jambalaya, crawfish pies, fried lasagna and of course, lots of Louisiana Creole tomatoes will be available for purchase.

    There will also be live music and cooking demonstrations on four different stages during both days of the festival.
