    Sha'Carri Richardson secures spot at 2024 Summer Olympics

    Former LSU track star Sha’Carri Richardson won the 100-meter final on Saturday night at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials in Eugene, Oregon which qualifies her for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Richardson ran a season-best 10.71 seconds, which was the fastest 100M time in the world this year.

    The 24-year-old is also expected to compete for another Olympic spot in the 200-meter race on Thursday.

    Also qualifying in the 100M were Richardson’s training partner Melissa Jefferson, who finished in second place and Twanisha Terry, who came in third.

    The 2024 Summer Olympics officially starts on July 26th with the opening ceremony and will conclude on August 11th.
