    German Chocolate Brownies: Decadent Delights

    Chocolate lovers rejoice! If you love both German chocolate cake and brownies, you absolutely love this recipe for German Chocolate Brownies. It combines the best of desserts for a decadently, delicious sweet treat anytime. This quick and easy recipe only takes about an hour to prep and prepare, so you enjoy them any day of the week.

    INGREDIENTS:

    (Brownies)

    • 1 cup of all-purpose flour, sifted
    • 4 ounces of German chocolate baking bar
    • 2 cups of granulated sugar
    • 4 large eggs
    • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
    • 1 cup of butter, salted and cut into tablespoons
    • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

    (Topping)

    • 1 cup of granulated sugar
    • 1 cup of evaporated milk
    • 3 large egg yolks
    • 1/2 cup butter, salted and cut into tablespoons
    • 1 1/2 cups of toasted coconut
    • 1 cup of toasted pecans, chopped
    • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
    • Melted chocolate for drizzle topping

    DIRECTIONS:

    • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
    • Line a 9 by 13 baking dish with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray.
    • Add cut butter into a large pot and melt over medium-low heat.
    • Break up the chocolate bar into squares and add to the pot, stirring occasionally.
    • Mix and melt the chocolate with butter until smooth and creamy.
    • Remove from heat and whisk in sugar until smooth.
    • Add one egg at a time and whisk in fully before adding the next.
    • Whisk in the vanilla and salt.
    • Add the flour and stir in until fully combined with no dry patches.
    • Pour the batter into the baking dish. Bake for about 35-38 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
    • Place on rack and cool completely.
    • While the brownies are cooling, make the topping.
    • Add the sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and egg yolks into a medium-sized pot.
    • Put on medium-low heat and mix together. Stirring occasionally until the butter has melted.
    • Bring the mix to a simmer while still stirring occasionally, making sure nothing sticks to the bottom. Once it starts to simmer and thickens, remove from heat.
    • Add the coconut, pecans, and vanilla. Stir to combine and continue stirring until thickened.
    • Pour frosting on top of cooled brownies and smooth out. Let frosting cool completely.
    • Cut brownies into bars and drizzle with the melted chocolate, serve and enjoy!
