On Saturday, October 5th, come out and celebrate the 5th annual Bluesberry Music and Art Festival in Covington, Louisiana. This year's event will feature an incredible lineup of regional and national talent, headlined by Texas blues-rock singer/songwriter and guitarist Ally Venable, as well as performances by Louisiana Music Hall of Fame inductee Jonathon "Boogie" Long, Blues Foundation Award winner and guitarist Laurie Morvan, Austin-based guitarist, singer, and songwriter Gary Cain, and South Louisiana roots/blues musician Josh Garrett. New Orleans own musical icon, Charmaine Neville. will serve as this year's emcee.
Set in Downtown Covington’s riverside Bogue Falaya Park, Bluesberry Festival is a perfect place for music and art aficionados who want to “experience” the arts amidst Southeast Louisiana’s natural landscape. In addition to a diverse music lineup, the festival also features live art demonstrations with over 20 talented artists from across the region who will be selling their original work. There is also a free interactive painting experience, where patrons can create their own original work of art to take home with them and a Children’s Village where kids can exercise their own creative talent.
The festival will also feature a food truck alley with delicious, local cuisine from vendors like Pyre BBQ, Rustic Press, Rue Chow, Creole Tomato, Hocus Smokus, Taco Y Birria, and more. Attendees can also check out the Abita Beer Garden and the amazing selection of crafted brews from Abita Brewery, including their Abita Blueberry Beer. There will also be a variety of wines and cocktails available at the festival spirits tent.
Festival co-founder, Sarada Bonnett said, "First-time attendees at our music and art festival can expect an immersive experience unlike any other. "In addition to the main attractions, festival-goers can enjoy a wide variety of food vendors, interactive workshops, and unique merchandise from local artisans. The atmosphere is electric, with a sense of community and creativity that brings people together. Whether you’re here to dance, relax, or get inspired, you’re in for an unforgettable weekend."
