    Pelicans forward Zion Williamson hosts youth camp in South Carolina

    On Saturday, August 17th, New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson hosted a youth camp in Spartanburg, SC.

    The former Spartanburg Day standout held the free event for more than 200 kids at the Upward Stars Center, which was completely booked within just 15 minutes of when the camp was first announced.

    Williamson held a meet and greet, taking photos with the campers, signing autographs, and hosting a question and answer session as well. Telling WYFF News that it was great to give back to the community that he grew up in, “They embraced me, they adopted me in a sense. It’s only right that I show love right back and give back to the community.”

    Adding, “It’s a great turnout,” “Hopefully this is something I can continue to do.”

    Williamson was selected by the Pelicans with the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft.
