TIOGA, ND ( KXNET ) — The 16th Annual Bakken Rocks CookFest has announced its location and date.

According to a news release, the cookfest takes place every summer and gives people the chance to learn more about the oil and gas industry, meet some of its players, attend an information session, and eat some BBQ.

This year, it’s taking place on July 18 in Tioga. From 2:30-4 p.m., an information session will be held in the Tioga Community Center (410 6th St NE) and from 4-7 p.m., all the festivities will take place at Tioga City Park (310 4th St NE).

“This event remains a favorite among our companies and a favorite among the communities in the West,” said the Executive Director for the North Dakota Petroleum Foundation, Tessa Sandstrom. “The energy industry remains a stronghold for our state, especially western North Dakota. We’re excited each year to get out, get to know community leaders who help us organize the event, and celebrate the progress we’ve experienced through this fun, family-friendly event.”

Companies in the oil and gas industry will serve ribs, brisket, barbeque, and more to have the chance to earn the People’s Choice and Judges’ Choice titles.
