Police Ask Public to Help Locating Missing Cranford Teen with Special Needs
CRANFORD, NJ — Police are looking for a teenager with special needs who walked away from his home in Cranford Sunday, July 7, around 2 p.m., according to a Nixle alert from Westfield police. The young man, whose name is Petey, was reportedly seen one hour later at Home Goods in Clark, police said.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER Petey is 18 years old, has special needs, and he is attracted to trains. In a Facebook post by Petey’s mother shared by Westfield police, she wrote that he had no phone, no money, no ID and no water. He may be carrying a basketball, she wrote. Cranford Police are asking residents to view their surveillance cameras to determine whether Petey may have walked by. He may have had a baseball bag with a bat sticking out, according to witnesses.
