Southeast Wisconsin weather: Breezy winds, cooler ahead

Saturday evening hit-and-miss showers and a few lightning strikes continue to be possible. Most of the showers will end overnight with partly cloudy skies and lows in the 60s.

Sunday will be a mainly dry and partly cloudy day. There is a chance of a stray shower near the lakefront Sunday afternoon, but most places will remain dry. Highs will top out in the mid to upper 70s. Breezy north to northeast winds will gust up to 25 mph. Those winds will create dangerous conditions on the water, creating a high swim risk, waves of 3-5 feet, and a risk of rip currents. A Small Craft Advisory and a Beach Hazards Statement will be in effect on Sunday.

Canadian wildfire smoke will push in from the north Sunday and Monday, likely creating hazy skies. Air quality may drop into the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range.

Cooler and less humid conditions will be with us early in the week with highs in the low to mid 70s. Heat does look to return late in the week into next weekend.
