Nick Kurtz Drafted No. 4 in 2024 MLB Draft by Oakland Athletics
Wake Forest 1B Nick Kurtz has been selected fourth overall in the 2024 MLB draft by the Oakland Athletics, becoming the second Wake Forest player taken in the top 5 this year. Kutz becomes the 6th first round pick for the Deacs in the past 4 years and is the 3rd highest selected player in program history. In his final season as a Demon Deacon, Kutz was a 2nd Team All-American selection, a 1st Team All-ACC player, and a Golden Spikes Semifinalist. He led the team with 22 homeruns this season, giving him 61 career homeruns over his three-year career with Wake Forest, ranking 2nd in program history.
