WAUSEON — A Toledo area man has been indicted here in Fulton County Common Pleas Court on a murder charge and nine other offenses.

Edward Polansky Jr., 33, Holland, is charged with murder, an unclassified felony; involuntary manslaughter, a first-degree felony; trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, a second-degree felony; two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs, each a second-degree felony; aggravated possession of drugs, a second-degree felony; possession of cocaine, a second-degree felony; possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a second-degree felony; and two counts of having weapons while under disability, each a third-degree felony.

Five of the charges include firearms specifications which require, upon conviction, mandatory prison terms, and each count references alleged crimes committed on March 28.

The involuntary manslaughter charge alleges that Polansky caused the death of another person. The deceased person’s name is not included in the indictment filed in common pleas court which states only that Polansky caused the death of “Victim.”

However, Toledo television station WTVG reported that the victim is John Wolf, 48, Toledo, and attributed this information to Swanton’s police chief.

This followed an incident in Swanton on March 28 in which police were informed of two injured persons in a vehicle, one of whom had suffered an “apparent gunshot wound” and was pronounced dead.

Swanton police had issued a release on its Facebook page on March 29 stating that law enforcement was informed of two injured persons in a vehicle on March 28. One of them had suffered an “apparent gunshot wound” and was pronounced dead, but the victim’s name had not been listed.

According to WTVG, the police chief stated that there was not a second injured person as originally indicated.

Among others indicted by the same grand jury on unrelated charges:

    • Richard Taylor, 34, Markham, Ill., for burglary, a second-degree felony; and theft, a fifth-degree felony.

    • Mitchell Molina, 37, Wauseon, for having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony; strangulation, a fourth-degree felony; and domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor.

    • Jeffrey Colon, 72, Archbold, for 14 counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person, each a fourth felony.

    • Joseph Pedraza, 32, Wauseon, for failure to appear, a fourth-degree felony.

    • Jacob Wyckhouse, 38, McClure, for failure to provide change of address, a fourth-degree felony; and assault, a first-degree misdemeanor.
