    Special Events: '90s Retro Skate and Thrift & Sip highlight the weekend

    Thrift & Sip is back but in the evening this time. This free to attend event offers shopping, sipping, and delicious food on the campus of Maumee Bay Brewing Company. Proceeds will benefit the Rotoract Club of Toledo. The event begins at 6 p.m. Friday and runs through 10 p.m. Maumee Bay Brewing Company is located at 27 Broadway St.

    ■ Come by for a caffeinated good time as Flying Rhino Coffee presents a Night Cap Dance Party on Friday evening from 6 to 11 p.m. (possibly later) at the Flying Rhino location at 201 Morris St. This party celebrates Coffee Quest 419, which starts Aug. 1. There will be music from DJ Benny Goodtimes beginning at 7 p.m. The dance party is free and open to the public, though the event description warns “You gotta act right!” The event is also adjacent to Thrift & Sip.

    ■ It’s time for baggy jeans and scrunchies at the Back to the ’90s skate night on Friday from 7 to 10 p.m. at Ottawa Park ice rink, located at 2015 Parkside Dr. Wear your best retro throwback clothes and get ready to skate to your favorite hits from the 1990s.     ■ Close out the weekend in a most enjoyable way with the relaxing and soothing sounds of the Polish American Concert Band at the Toledo Zoo amphitheater at Music Under the Stars on Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. Food and beverage offerings will be available for purchase. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free but zoo parking rates and policies still apply. For more information, visit toledozoo.org.

    ■ Calling kids and parents! Come by the West Toledo Branch Library at 3 p.m. on Saturday for free pizza and a screening of the acclaimed Disney film Wish .
