College financial aid program set for Aug. 9

Toledo Tomorrow will host a College Financial Aid/FAFSA event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Mott Library, 1010 Dorr St.

Toledo Tomorrow is an educational non-profit event dedicated to helping high school students find college and career opportunities. Staff will be on hand to help with any questions students may have about college, FAFSA, trade school, and available scholarships.

Participants who complete their FAFSA will get a voucher for a free lunch from the Big O’s food truck, which will also be at the event.

The event is open to everyone and FAFSA has no age limit, so students looking to go back to school can fill it out too.

According to organizers, more than half of the households in the Toledo area are Pell Grant-eligible — for up to $7,395 awards — and those Pell dollars are accessed through filling out FAFSA.
