Bond has been set at $250,000 for an 18-year-old charged with a drive-by shooting Saturday evening that wounded two teenagers playing basketball near Waite High School.

Terrence Frazier, of the 500 block of Yondota Street, is charged with five counts of felonious assault, with two specifying serious injury to the victim, according to documents filed in Toledo Municipal Court.

According to police affidavits, Mr. Frazier was a passenger in a moving vehicle who fired at least six shots toward a group of people. He was identified based on witness statements and surveillance video, the affidavits state. He was arrested Tuesday.

During his arraignment Wednesday, Judge Nicole Khoury appointed a public defender and scheduled Mr. Frazier’s next court appearance for Aug. 6.

Boys ages 15 and 17 were wounded around 8 p.m. Saturday when an occupant of a vehicle passing the school’s outdoor basketball court fired multiple shots. They were taken to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center for treatment.

Mr. Frazier was serving active probation for a Feb. 15 conviction for a misdemeanor weapons charge at the time of the shooting. A probation violation hearing in that case, for which Mr. Frazier also received a suspended 180-day jail sentence from Judge Michele Wagner, has been scheduled for Aug. 28.
