50 Texas Counties Declare Migrant Invasion

Governor Greg Abbott declared Texas was invaded by illegal immigrants who crossed the border with Mexico and entered Texas. As of last week, 50 Texas counties have declared they were invaded. Three counties made the declaration over the past few days. 

Since Governor Abbott started Operation Lone Star, State representatives have apprehended over 494,400 illegal immigrants according to a recent press release. Governor Abbott continues to fight the battle with illegal immigrants crossing the southern border avoiding the legal policies President Joe Biden implemented a year ago.

Over two years ago, Governor Abbott wrote a letter to the Director of Public Safety according to a press release:

“Until Congress acts or the Biden Administration does its constitutionally required job, Texas Guardsmen and Troopers must bear the burden of securing the border.”

“You must continue to keep Texans and Americans safe and protect against an invasion of the southern border. I order you to use all resources and tools available to repel immigrants from attempting to cross illegally, arrest those who cross illegally and return them to the border, and arrest criminals who violate Texas law.”

According to The Citizen Tribune, three counties declared they were invaded - Bandera, Schleicher, and Uvalde.

Congressional Republicans recognized the issue and gave President Biden an ultimatum to help with the migrant crisis.
