Governor Abbott on Track to Build More Border Wall Than President Trump

As Texas Governor Greg Abbott goes on his third term in office, he continues to fight the border crisis. With the support of the Texas National Guard, support from other State governors, U.S. Border Patrol, military support, and building the Texas wall, migrants have started to enter the country through other States.  

As recently reported by CBS News, Arizona, and California have more migrants entering their state than Texas. So, the efforts of Governor Abbott are working. 

This week, Governor Abbott held a press conference at Shelby Park which the State took over as illegal immigrants were using. This caused the Biden administration to challenge his actions. 

The U.S. Supreme Court voted with the Biden administration on January 22 according to The Texas Tribune.  

Governor Abbott said at Shelby Park according to a press release on February 8:

“Half of America’s Governors, including those here with me today, have banded together to make one thing clear: Americans stand with Texas and our right to protect and defend our state from the crisis at our southern border." 

Governor Abbott added:

"The tools and strategies that DPS and the Texas Military Department use to secure the border would not happen without members of the Texas Legislature, like those with me here today." 

"Working together, we will expand current operations in other parts of the border to decrease illegal immigration and ensure that we add more soldiers in the border region."

Governor Abbott also said he would build more wall than former President Donald Trump built when he was in office.

Abbott said according to The New York Post:

“If you look at the amount of wall already constructed and the amount of wall that is going to be under construction, Texas will have built more of the Trump border wall than even Trump built in the state of Texas.”
