Governor Abbott Sends 105,000 Migrants to Sanctuary Cities

Since President Joe Biden came into office three years ago, he got to a slow start on the border crisis. That’s when Governor Greg Abbott decided to take the border mission on his own. The results have been impressive but startling when you look at the numbers and effort involved.

In March 2021, Governor Abbott started Operation Lone Star. Abbott used the Department of Public Safety and deployed the Texas National Guard to detain and prevent illegal immigrants from entering. In addition, Governor Abbott sent over 105,000 migrants to sanctuary cities to prevent overwhelming border cities in Del Rio, Brownsville, El Paso, and other areas.

Texas has transported over 105,000 migrants to sanctuary cities:

Over 12,500 to DC

Over 39,300 to NYC

Over 32,300 to Chicago

Over 3,400 to Philadelphia

Over 16,700 to Denver

Over 1,500 to LA

Until Biden does his job to secure the border, Texas will continue to hold the line.

Governor Abbott also shared the work the National Guard is doing as they lay concertina wire.

The Texas National Guard is expanding their efforts to wire shut attempts to enter illegally into the state of Texas.

Other partner states including Florida, Utah, Tennessee, and Missouri have joined Governor Abbott as they help build the border wall.
