Governor Abbott Said Terrorists Were Entering Texas

Over the past month, several illegal immigrants have crossed the Texas border. Then it’s worse when some of the immigrants are terrorists. Texas Governor Greg Abbott pointed that out at the recent Texas Public Policy Foundation summit in Austin.

Governor Abbott spoke at the event that terrorists were crossing the southern border. This past month, three terrorists were detained.

• February 21: the Department of Public Safety detained Yepez-Bedoya in Eagle Pass and he’s on the Terror Watchlist (Yahoo)

• March 8: Border Patrol detained FARC terrorist Jerminton Genaro-Quinones Carvajal near El Paso (New York Post)

• March 9: Border Patrol detained Hezbollah terrorist Basel Bassel Ebbadi near El Paso (New York Post)

These are just a few terrorists announced publically to the public.

Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee Mark Green said over 300 people on the terror watch list have entered the country since 2021.

Green said according to The Daily Mail:

“Since the beginning of FY2021, over 300 individuals on the terrorist watchlist have crossed our Southwest border between ports of entry, and there is no way to know how many more were among the 1.8 million known gotaways.”

At the Texas Public Policy Foundation summit, Governor Abbott said according to The Statesmen:

"You cannot have the number of people coming across the border who are terrorists and not expect anything different."

Abbott’s talk came after FBI Director Christopher Wray told a congressional panel that a terrorist could cross the Texas-Mexico border illegally.

Wray said at a Senate Panel on March 11 according to ABC News:

"We have had dangerous individuals entering the United States have a variety of sources," Wray said at the annual "Worldwide Threats" congressional hearings at which the heads of U.S. intelligence agencies testify.

"We are seeing a wide array of very dangerous threats that emanate from the border.”

"There is a particular network that has -- some of the overseas facilitators of the smuggling network have -- ISIS ties that we're very concerned about, and we've been spending enormous amount of effort with our partners investigating."
