Competency hearing ordered for Tomah group home stabbing suspect

SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) -- A man accused of stabbing someone outside of a group home in Tomah appeared in Monroe County Court Wednesday.

Jorge Luis Santos-Martinez was arrested back in May after allegedly stabbing another person multiple times in front of 325 Hollister Avenue in Tomah.

On Wednesday, Santos-Martinez made his initial appearance where the court found probable cause. Santos-Martinez was ordered to submit to a competency exam, which was requested by his defense.

He faces multiple charges including First-Degree Attempted Homicide and First-Degree Reckless Injury.

Santos-Martinez will appear in court again on August 6.
