Tomah VA to open women's clinic in late July

TOMAH, Wis. (WKBT) -- The Tomah VA Medical Center is set to open its new women's clinic later this month. This week, News 8 Now This Morning's Alexandra Carter spoke with Dr. Jacquelyn Paykel, the Women's Health Medical Director of Tomah VA Medical Center to discuss the new specialized care for women veterans.

The clinic is meant to give women services that other clinics may not provide, as men and women have different needs. Paykel mentioned that veterans need specialized care to adapt to civilian life as well. The clinic provides both mental and physical health care services and even provide health coaching for an overall holistic approach.

The grand opening of the clinic is on July 30 at 2:00 p.m. The event includes a ribbon cutting, tours, and is free and open to the public.
