TOMAHAWK, Wis. — State Sen. Mary Felzkowski, R-Tomahawk, announced Wednesday that she will be running for re-election this November in Wisconsin’s 12th Senate District.

The 12th Senate District, under new maps, covers all of Florence, Forest, Langlade, Lincoln, Marinette, Oneida and Vilas counties, and parts of Oconto, Marathon and Shawano counties.

Felzkowski began her service as a citizen legislator when she was first elected to represent the 35th Assembly District in 2012. She served four 2-year terms in the Assembly, including two sessions as a member of the budget-writing Joint Finance Committee, and one session as the Assistant Majority Leader.

Felzkowski was elected to the State Senate in 2020, where she once again serves as a member of the budget-writing Joint Finance Committee. Despite the struggles that come with serving alongside a Democrat governor, Felzkowski said she has continued to produce positive results for her district. She is running for a four-year term in the Senate that would begin in January of 2025, and run through 2028.

“I’ve been extremely honored to have the opportunity to represent the people of northern Wisconsin in Madison, and I hope to earn your vote as we continue to fight for lower taxes, smaller government, less burdensome regulations, and strong conservative values,” she said.

Throughout the last four years, Felzkowski had 26 bills signed into law by the Governor — with a handful more still awaiting his signature. Her said her focus in the Legislature has been on fixing our broken healthcare system — increasing access and decreasing costs — without sacrificing quality.

“Working with a Democrat governor isn’t ideal by any means, but we aren’t sent to Madison to sit back and do nothing for four years while we wait for a Republican to take over the East Wing,” she said. “I’m proud of the successes I’ve achieved during my time in office so far, and I look forward to more accomplishments in the future. The next two election cycles will be crucial for our country and state. We must come together and work towards a collective goal of electing Republicans up and down the ballot — including the President and U.S. Senate in 2024, and then Governor in 2026.”

She said the state needs leaders in Madison who will stand strong for conservative principles and defend our constitutional rights.

“I look forward to continuing to fight on behalf of the Northwoods, and I hope you’ll entrust me in taking on that role once again in 2025,” Felzkowski said.
