Jax Winterbourne of Denver, Colorado took his passion of voice acting to the next level focusing on voices for Anime, and Video Games.
Jax Winterbourne a Colorado Native is not just a voice actor, he has experiences in the cybersecurity space and is a disabled Marine Corps Veteran. He also recently started his own studio called Bluenova Studio, that specializes in audition sourcing and detailed analysis, expert casting and high-quality demo creation. You can say that Jax has done many things in his life already.
Jax has been a voice actor for many different roles even roles that are around online commercials, He wanted to start as a voice actor because he thought it would be a artistic outlet for him and a way to unwind from after the corporate grind of his day job. He discovered his love for bringing characters to life from watching anime and Matt Shipman’s work in Arifureta that inspired him to take a drive and go for it.
You couldn’t believe that Jax even started his own studio called “Bluenova Studio” that provides audition sourcing, he started this studio because he wanted to help his peers find themselves into good projects. He didn’t have much experience in demo production or directing for instance, but he still pushed through and worked on casting 15+ actors for an anime project that currently is under NDA. Thats not all...Bluenova has cast several actors for a visual novel, and are in the process of finalizing the casting call for another anime project that will go out to their private roster.Ultimately, Jax thought it was best to bring another person on board to help, thus he brought in Branden Loera. Branden became the primary director for Bluenova, directing the voice acting efforts for Under the False Sky - Blood:Covered Snow & Monochrome Pixels. In addition, he's directed multiple demos, contributing to Bluenova's overall mission. You could say he has experience under his belt.
With the core team of Branden and Jax, Bluenova also brought in Eric Sheffield who has worked tirelessly with Branden to record, mix, and produce the deliverables from the recorded-live sessions for Under the False Sky and also helped modify audio for Monochrome Pixels.
Jax thought of opening auditions for their voice over roster in November 2023 and closed it in December. They received over 400 auditions and now have a roster of talented individuals that they distribute their casting calls to. At this time, the roster is no longer open and they don’t plan to open it back up anytime soon. They are happy with the talented individuals they have picked to receive their calls.
That’s not all that Jax had in mind for his studio; he also offers a free casting call distribution service. Jax understands how overwhelming it can be for project managers trying to hire the right talent so he just wants to do his part to help. Bluenova also offers paid services but they are more than willing to distribute a project casting call to their private roster to help limit public exposure and provide a VIP experience for their roster of talented individuals. Why would they offer free distribution? I spoke with Jax and they had this to say ”The reason we do it for free is simply to help both project owners and voice actors. It's not a lot of work to send a mass email out to our roster with a casting call, so it's not that big of deal.”
