Donald Trump's lawyers urge New York appeals court to overturn 'egregious' civil fraud verdict
NEW YORK (AP) — Fresh off victories in other legal cases, Donald Trump on Monday pressed a New York appeals court to overturn the nearly $500 million New York civil fraud judgment that threatens to drain his personal cash reserves as he campaigns to retake the White House. In paperwork filed with the state’s mid-level appeals court, the former president’s lawyers said Manhattan Judge Arthur Engoron’s Feb. 16 finding that Trump lied to banks, insurers and others about his wealth was “erroneous” and “egregious.” Trump’s appeal arguments echoed many of the gripes he delivered during his trial to TV cameras outside the courtroom. His lawyers argued that New York Attorney General Letitia James’ lawsuit should have been promptly dismissed, the statute of limitations barred some allegations, that no one was harmed by Trump’s alleged fraud and that James’ involvement in private business transactions threatens to drive business out of the state.
Defensive HOFer admits Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen is his favorite NFL player: ‘You watch that brother?’
Charles Haley spent his Hall of Fame career tormenting quarterbacks while playing for the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys. With close ties to two winning organizations with plenty of star power, one would believe that Haley’s favorite NFL player would reside on one of the NFC rosters on the defensive side of the ball. That, however, is not the case as Haley admitted on a recent episode of Up & Adams. When asked to name his favorite current player, Haley did not hesitate to name a quarterback in the AFC.

How’s everyone’s summer going? It’s been a quiet one over here at Die By The Blade. There’s always something to talk about, for sure, but it’s been relatively quiet on the Eastern front when it comes to the Buffalo Sabres. NHL arbitration hearings are coming up, though this year, the league has not released its normal schedule of when each respective player’s hearing is – so we have no idea when Ukko-Pekka Lukkonen or Beck Malenstyn will head to their hearings. Until we find out more, all we can wait for is to see if the sides settle before their hearing.
