You Won't Believe Why DeSantis is Staying Quiet on His Presidential Bid

The politics of the 2010s stopped working in the 2020s. Loud and aggressive candidates have lost to their composed and classier counterparts.

Maybe the public has been fed up with the Trumps of the world and their fire-dumpster PR campaigns plaguing the narrative. Many believe Biden won because he did not play Trump's game. He was the exact opposite of everything Trump.

And now DeSantis is paying close attention to how the world is reacting.

    The Red Wave That Couldn't

Republicans anticipated more significant gains in state and congressional elections than what ultimately occurred. And the majority of political analysts and Republican insiders blame former president Donald Trump for those defeats, which has propelled Governor Ron DeSantis' reputation even further.

DeSantis has continued to brush aside talk about his presidential bid in 2024 and told the public to "chill out." He has kept his demeanor in public.

"We just finished this election. People need to chill out a little bit on some of this stuff," he said when asked by reporters if he's planning to run in the next presidential election.

However, he's been working on releasing his biography and changing Florida laws that would enable him to run while being a sitting governor.

    Analysts wage in

For GOP strategist Christian Camara, DeSantis has his own problems to deal with before trying to jump into a presidential race: the state's property insurance market is still a mess, and Hurricanes Ian and Nicole severely damaged a number of significant villages. These problems still echo in early 2023.

"He's going to have to devote time and attention to that, and I think it would hurt him politically, not just the state but him, politically, if he were running around running for president, raising money, and traveling to other states, while the state of Florida is dealing with these issues that require his attention."

Camara does point out that the outpouring of support for DeSantis' presidential run is genuine and not just news media hype.

"Gov. Ron DeSantis is playing it right. He's playing it right because two years is a political eternity, and the state is going to be facing some challenges next year," he said.

Within two years, anything can occur. Consequently, why should Americans be concerned about the GOP presidential primaries right now? Camara believes they should not. It's too early.

DeSantis is going to finish his job as Governor. He said in the debate that if he was re-elected he would not leave Florida and the people who voted for him.
