Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has finally spoken regarding Donald Trump's legal woes.

He criticized the Manhattan district attorney seeking charges against the former president. DeSantis promised his office would not get involved if the case somehow ended up in Trump's adopted home state of Florida.

But DeSantis, a potential contender for the Republican presidential candidacy in 2024, refrained from supporting the former president and instead appeared to make fun of the predicament Trump finds himself in as he launches a third presidential bid.

A grand jury is about to decide whether Trump should be charged for an alleged payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels who is linked to an alleged affair.

    What does she know?

"I don't know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star to secure silence over some type of alleged affair," DeSantis said. "I just, I can't speak to that."

The contemptuous remarks immediately made their way across the state to Mar-a-Lago, where Trump has taken up residence while he waits to learn the New York grand jury results. His supporters immediately began criticizing DeSantis on social media, implying that he would pay a political price if he failed to protect Trump.

In retaliation, Trump made a statement on his social media platform Truth Social attacking DeSantis on several fronts.

"Ron DeSanctimonious will probably find out about FALSE ACCUSATIONS & FAKE STORIES sometime in the future, as he gets older, wiser, and better known when he's unfairly and illegally attacked by a woman, even classmates that are 'underage' (or possibly a man!)," Trump said.

Trump has indicated that his arrest is imminent, and if he happens to be in Florida at the time, it might need a joint police effort across DeSantis' state. According to DeSantis, no agreements with regional law enforcement regarding Trump have existed.

However, Trump has faced more court hearings than any American leader in known history. It's not just a bigger number of lawsuits. Trump blows everyone out of the water with thousands of cases to his name. Can they all be just "fake news?"

What do you think about DeSantis breaking the silence on Trump's case?
