The Walt Disney Corporation will host a significant LGBTQ conference at its Florida resort later this year, following disagreements with Ron DeSantis over gay rights issues, particularly his infamous "Don't Say Gay" bill.

After taking place in Las Vegas the year before, the Out & Equal Workplace Summit, which calls itself "the largest LGBTQ+ conference in the world," will occur at Disney World in September.

Several well-known US companies will sponsor the conference, with Apple, Walmart, and Amazon being the most prominent names on this list. Out & Equal plans to welcome over 5,000 participants.

Disney has a history of working with Out & Equal and is a major sponsor for the LGBTQ+ organization.

Disney has also agreed to host the event the following year, which will take place in the last weeks of the 2024 presidential election, according to an Out & Equal spokesman.

It seems like Disney has become a symbol of LGBTQ+ resistance in Florida.

DeSantis has yet to declare his candidacy for president. But, many consider him to be among the front-runners for the next Republican presidential nomination after becoming well-known thanks in part to his open conflict with Disney.

In February, at DeSantis' request, the self-governing district was dissolved by a vote of Florida's GOP-controlled legislature, primarily viewed as retaliation for Disney's resistance to his policies.

Disney openly slammed the "Don't Say Gay" bill, which bars teachers from discussing gender and sexuality in the classroom before the fourth grade.

Disney, a significant employer and political donor in Florida, announced it would halt its political contributions in response to the protest.

DeSantis has escalated the conflict and declared he intends to extend his bans on classroom instruction to all state grade levels. Florida leaders are working relentlessly to destroy all social progress made in the last century.

What do you think about Disney firing back at DeSantis?
