Are These Ads the Sign of DeSantis' White House Bid? It Looks That Way

Many believe Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has quietly started his presidential campaign.

Early primary states are now seeing ads that seem to be encouraging DeSantis to run for president. It looks like a coordinated action.

The Governor is expected to announce his candidacy in the coming days. He may need to wait until the Florida Legislative session ends and the legislators change the laws to support his run. DeSantis seems to be risk-averse, playing it as safely as possible.

If DeSantis loses the primaries, he still gets to keep his seat as the Governor.

The DeSantis 2024 Campaign

Eight months before the presidential caucuses, Iowa voters can see standard "resume-style" ads occupy their TVs.

One ad states, "Grandson of a steelworker, Ron DeSantis worked his way through college."

The Republican Governor of Florida has not officially declared his intention to run against the more than six other GOP candidates in the race, including his former idol, former President Donald Trump.

However, the most recent TV and digital advertisements are from a Never Back Down political action committee that former Trump supporters established.

In a campaign ad in South Carolina and New Hampshire, the focus shifts from a blurry image of Trump to news articles about a victorious DeSantis as the erstwhile MAGA supporter swaps out his Trump bumper sticker with that of his former protégé.

Former Orange County Republican Party chair Charles Hart asserts that the commercials may tempt people into thinking that DeSantis may run for office again in 2018. Still, in reality, they are creating the stage for DeSantis to complete his second term as Governor and carry on the policies that Trump began in 2028.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a former chair of the Democratic National Committee, claims that the advertisements merely fail to depict the real DeSantis.

According to widespread rumor, DeSantis is expected to make some presidential declarations this week when the legislative session concludes.
